Jeff Newman – Living with Models
Jeff Newman chatted with Independent Film Quarterly recently about his new webseries called Living with Models. Living with Models, Ep. 9: Michal’s A Star screened at the IFQ Film and Webisode Festival and won Best Webisode. IFQ got a chance to ask about this webisode lifestyle and the future of the series Living with Models.
IFQ: What are some of the advantages of webisodes?
Jeff Newman (JN): The biggest advantage would be that we have full creative control over the
final product.
IFQ: How did you go about getting your locations for the show?
JN: Favors, Favors, Favors. That was pretty much the name of the game for all
aspects of the production. Specifically regarding the location, this was
one of those “friend of a friend of a friend” kind of situation. Even
though the show takes place in Malibu, the house that we shot in was
located in Carlsbad, CA. Since we had virtually no budget for location, we
crammed the entire 70 page script into a 4 day shoot.
IFQ: If not on the web, what main stream network do you see the show on?
JN: Living with Models would work really well on basic cable, specifically
networks like MTV or Comedy Central.
IFQ: What’s next for Living with Models?
JN: We’re currently writing season 2 and we’re going into production this
summer!
